If it is properly closed (roll it down three times) then you do not have to worry if it falls in the water. Your belongings will stay dry and the bag will float if you leave some air inside before closing it. Avoid fully submerging the bag as it is not designed for prolonged submersion. It can withstand rain, waterfall drops, and being used while crossing a river, but extended submersion is not recommended.

My husband and I did a lot of research on dry bags before buying this one from Platinum Sun. We will be in the Dominican Republic for 3-weeks in December 2024 and plan to use this bag for multiply activities such as: hiking (and sliding down) the 27 waterfalls, kiteboarding, kayaking, and SUP. No other bag we considered had such great features. When we received our dry bag backpack we appreciated how well made and sturdy it is. The wet bag area at the bottom is a super bonus. We are so happy with this purchase.
Fishing trips just got better with this dry bag. It holds my tackle, snacks, and extra clothing, ensuring everything stays dry. The netted side pockets are perfect for storing bait or a water bottle. Ususally we have 3-4 same drybags on our boat. I wish they came in more colours so we can know whos bag it is. I think it's one of the best drybag for boaters on the market these days.
I do,'t know what I did before I got this bag as a gift!!! I didn't know I needed it so badly. It is so comfortable to put your wet wetsuit and bootie in the lower compartment - and you don't worry about rolling it in a towel, bagging it in a plastic bag and squeezing the water out of it and it still makes wet all your dry stuff. This separate pocket is just what all of us need!
This bag is indeed a game changer, I've had A LOT of different bags over the years. Using it for my scuba gear for shore diving as well as boat diving. I fit a changing hoodie, pants, thin hoodie, tee-shirt and workout bra in the bottom dry pouch. In the main bag, my BC, reg, booties, short fins, hooded vest, go pro and flash light. The side pockets hold a large 32 oz bottle of water each (with length room to spare). The front zip pocket, under the mesh, protects my phone from water and rain and sun and is hidden from view. The inside zip pocket holds my wallet, hidden away as well. All this while still allowing proper top closure. The shoulder straps are comfortable and the hip strap is adjustable to almost any size. This bag is narrow, so when wearing its not taking up too much space in crowded areas like a ferry or a queue. It looks as good as it functions. Even with all the weight, it is comfortable to carry! A MUST for anyone with any kind of gear that needs to be mobile. Do not hesitate to purchase, this is THE bag.

This dry bag boasts a large capacity and comes equipped with backpack straps. It's perfect for trips to the beach or outings on a boat. As a scuba diver, I needed a bag for my diving trips. I like this bag, but the waist strap is designed for smaller waist sizes, so it may not be suitable for those with larger waistlines. If you don't care about the waist support (which we don't need in most of the cases) - that wouldn't be an issue, the bag is perfect other than that. 4 stars just because of this issue. The bag does an excellent job of keeping water out and has a handy 'wet pouch' at the bottom. it's a good bag.
