Practical Product Lifespan Explained

The term "Practical Product Lifespan" refers to the typical usable life of a product, rather than an indefinite or lifetime duration. Factors such as usage, wear and tear, and product care play a role in determining this lifespan. As with all materials, natural wear and fading occur over time, and moving parts can become worn.

Platinum Sun products are designed with longevity and durability in mind. By following the proper care instructions, you can enjoy extended use of your purchase. When a product seems worn out, it's probably time for a replacement. We hope you'll consider Platinum Sun for your next purchase. An authorized Platinum Sun Customer Service representative will determine the Practical Product Lifespan of a product. This assessment considers factors like product type, usage, specific issues, and age. The representative may require information from the customer to make an accurate assessment.

Sunglasses Warranty Coverage

We guarantee our sunglasses against:

  • Defective materials (frames, lenses, lens coatings) or workmanship: If there are any issues arising from manufacturing defects in the materials or craftsmanship.
  • Quality issues: Any problems related to the overall quality and performance of the sunglasses.
  • Delamination of lenses: If the layers of the lenses start to separate or peel apart, including loss of coating.
  • Frame breakage: Coverage for any unexpected breakage or damage to the frame occurring during normal use.
  • Hinge malfunctions: In case of issues with the hinges that affect the functionality of the sunglasses.
  • Uneven frame alignment due to manufacturing defects, causing discomfort when worn.

The sunglasses warranty does not cover:

  • Damage from outrageous or negligent events (e.g., being run over by a car, intentional abuse or damage to the frames).
  • Superficial damage, paint scuffs, or minor wear and tear.
  • Loss, theft, being dropped, sat on, stepped on, run over, shattered, chewed by a pet, or any other damage caused by misuse, abuse, or negligence.
  • Damage from accidents, improper care, negligence, normal wear and tear, or natural breakdown of colors and materials through time, exposure, or extensive use.
  • Scratched or abused lenses.

Apparel Warranty Coverage

Our apparel warranty covers:

  • Manufacturing or material defects

The apparel warranty does not cover:

  • Improper care or alterations
  • Misuse, theft, lost items
  • Damage caused by accidents, improper care, negligence, abuse, or negligence
  • Normal wear and tear, or natural breakdown of colors and materials through time, exposure, or extensive use

Warranty Decisions

We reserve the right to determine if your damage is covered under our Lifetime Warranty. While we're likely to be lenient with a good story, please note that replacement parts are not available for purchase. The Platinum Sun warranty does not cover lost or stolen products. It only applies to domestic purchases and to authentic products purchased from the Platinum Sun website.

How It Works

To initiate a warranty claim, please send an email to with the subject line "Platinum Sun Warranty Claim". The warranty process typically takes 1-7 days but may occasionally take longer. For a smoother process, please provide the following information in your email:

  • Product name, color and and size
  • Order number
  • Clear photos showing the problem
  • Description of product usage and how the problem occurred

If your claim is approved, you'll receive a replacement of the same item. If it's out of stock or discontinued, you'll receive a warranty voucher for a comparable product in the same category. You may be responsible for the cost of shipping and taxes if asked to return the product. Purchases made with a warranty voucher cannot be returned or exchanged.
